|We know that stress is caused by conflict between the conscious and unconscious parts of our mind.
When we think of our minds as an iceberg, our conscious mind would be the tiny tip of the iceberg protruding from the water supported by the massive structure underneath - our sub or unconscious mind - a strong driving force in our lives inducing emotion in any given situation.
The subconscious part of our mind can be up to 8-9 times bigger than the conscious part of our mind, so of course it usually wins when we feel conflicted. It is also said that up to 70% of the content of our subconscious mind is negative because as children we learned to push negative feelings down, store them.
Often we will consciously be striving for something in life, but unknown to us our subconscious programming is sabotaging our efforts.
The only way to stop this sabotage is gain awareness of the negative aspects of our subconscious mind and bring them into our consciousness.
This is a fun exercise in getting to know your 'inner child!'
